Key Tips for Selecting the Proper Solace Nic Salt E-Liquid Strength

If you’re ready to discover what makes Solace Nic Salt so unique, you’re in for a treat.  But, before you start drooling over all of the exquisite flavors that we have to offer, it’s important that you figure out your ideal nicotine strength.

What Does Nicotine Strength Mean?

Nicotine strength refers to the amount of nicotine that’s in an e-liquid.  It’s measured by milligrams, although some companies use percentages instead.

E-liquids are composed of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavoring additives and nicotine.  While all of these other ingredients are relatively fixed, nicotine varies as every user has different needs based on how much nicotine they crave.

Why is Nicotine Strength Important?

It’s crucial that you select the right nicotine strength, especially if you’ve recently quit smoking.  Nicotine, as we’re all aware, is addictive, and therefore choosing the right nicotine strength will determine how capable you are of satisfying your cravings.

If you don’t choose a high enough nicotine strength, you could end up going through a whole lot of e-liquid in order to feel satisfied.  Meanwhile, if you select too high a nicotine strength, you may end up feeling a bit edgy as your body isn’t used to such a high amount of this natural stimulant.

Can I Base My Nicotine Strength on How Much I Smoked?

Many people wonder if there’s some formula that can determine what their nicotine strength should be based on how many cigarettes they used to smoke.  Unfortunately, a precise number really can’t be determined due to a number of factors.  For one thing, nicotine that’s inhaled through a lit cigarette affects the body in a way that’s very different from the way in which the nicotine in e-liquid does.  Additionally, cigarette tobacco contains lots of additives that affect the way in which the nicotine in cigarettes makes us feel.

However, you don’t need an exact formula in order to find the right strength for your needs. For instance, if you were a heavy smoker, opting for the higher level of nicotine (50MG) strength may satisfy your cravings similarly to cigarettes.

Now, with all this being said, there are ways for going about doing this:

Consider How Much You Used to Smoke Each Day

As we said earlier, what’s most important is considering how much nicotine you used to consume as a smoker.  The higher the number of cigarettes you smoked daily, the higher the amount of nicotine that your body wants in order to feel satisfied.  If you smoked only a handful of cigarettes each day, on the other hand, you can go with a lower concentration.

Determine Whether or Not You’re Sensitive to Nicotine

Some people want to go with the highest nicotine strength because they believe that they’ll save money in the long-run.  However, everyone feels nicotine in a different way.  Some people are sensitive to high nicotine strengths, meaning that if they go with a super high concentration, they can end up feeling dizzy, nauseous and generally unwell.

Decide How Much E-Liquid You’re Willing to Go Through in a Week

If you’re vaping primarily to satisfy your nicotine cravings, it’s a good idea to ask yourself how much vape juice you’re willing to run through on a weekly basis.  The higher the nicotine content, the fewer puffs you’ll likely find yourself taking throughout the day.  The lower the nicotine content, the more you’ll vape as you’re trying to satisfy your cravings.  If saving money is a big priority, perhaps opt for a higher nicotine strength.

Figure Out Whether or Not You Want to Cut Down on Nicotine

Some first-time vapers have a goal to consume less nicotine right off of the bat.  If this is the case, we suggest going for 45mg or so and slowly working your way down by going to the next lower increment every few weeks.  Many of our nic salt e-liquids are available in extremely low nicotine strengths.

Ask Yourself What Your Vaping Priorities Are

Remember that the nicotine level in your e-juice can determine quite a few things about your overall vaping experience.

  • For instance, more nicotine results in thinner, less abundant vapor. If you crave fluffy, large vape clouds, high nicotine may inhibit this.
  • The level of salt-based nicotine that’s in your e-liquid has an impact on your throat hit. Some vapers crave that throat hit because it reminds them of the sensation of cigarette smoke hitting the back of their throat when they inhale.  The higher the nicotine content, the stronger the throat hit will be.
  • Lastly, your nicotine strength will impact the flavor of your e-juice. More nicotine means less flavor, although many find that the difference isn’t that noticeable.

Note the Differences Between Salt-Based and Freebase Nicotine

If you’re switching to salt nic after being a freebase user, there are some other things to consider.  Most importantly, it’s crucial that you keep in mind that the range of nicotine strengths available in nic salt juices is different from what you’re used to.  Generally, if you vaped between 12mg and 18mg of freebase, an e-juice with a salt nic strength of 50mg should do the trick.

Also, keep in mind that with nic salt juices, there usually isn’t as wide a variety of strengths as there is with e-liquids containing freebase nicotine.
